125 YEARS OF GEHOLIT+WIEMER

In 1889, today's GEHOLIT+WIEMER Lack- und Kunststoff-Chemie GmbH was founded by Heinrich Wiemer senior. founded: 125 years ago. This grandiose anniversary was celebrated with three events in September 2014.

On September 12, 2014, managing director Christian Wiemer invited people to the employee party in the Pestalozzihalle Graben-Neudorf. Around 400 employees and alumni from the 3 locations in Germany (Graben-Neudorf, Duisburg and Nossen), the subsidiaries from France and Poland as well as guests of honor and sales partners were happy to be there. In an elegant yet colorful ambience, the guests experienced an enjoyable and unforgettable evening. The film, made especially for the anniversary, celebrated its "world premiere", an entertaining program by presenter Oliver Tissot and musical accompaniment by the "Speedos" were offered.

A week later, GEHOLIT+WIEMER opened its doors to all interested parties from Graben-Neudorf and the surrounding area as part of the VCI's open day. Around 900 residents, family members, friends and customers found out more about GEHOLIT+WIEMER that day. Visitors were able to learn about the company's business areas, the training program and measures to increase the sustainability of the company and its products at several information stands. Around 550 visitors took part in the guided company tours over the course of the day. A colorful program was also designed for the little ones with can throwing, a bouncy castle, clowns and a magic show. 90 motivated employees ensured everything ran smoothly and created a successful day.

On September 23, 2014, family business owners from the company's customers, long-time business partners of the company as well as friends and companions of the company accepted the invitation to a symposium with the topic "Family Business - Challenges for the 21st Century" at the IHK Karlsruhe. Moderated by Gerhard Meier-Röhn, four keynote speeches illuminated the framework conditions and cohesion in family businesses from the perspective of politicians, associations, entrepreneurs and management consultants.
